An Ancient Street Corner of Hoi An
An Ancient Street Corner of Hoi An
By Duy Vu Do Tuan
From Vietnam, Hanoi
Weathered teak frames an intricately carved door, its faded indigo paint peeling gently. Tarnished brass fixtures gleam in the warm glow of paper lanterns. A potted bougainvillea cascades magenta blooms against ochre walls. Half-open, the door offers a tantalising glimpse of shadowy interiors. This portal stands as a silent sentinel, bridging Hoi An’s storied past with its vibrant present, inviting curious passersby to imagine the lives within.
