Boat Quay
By William Chia Yong Liang, MFPA
"Boat Quay" is a vibrant depiction of Singapore's bustling historical quay, showcasing boats moored along the riverbank amidst towering skyscrapers and bustling activity.
About
William became quadriplegic after an unfortunate diving accident in 1981 and lost his ability to speak following a stroke in 2007. However, with much persistence and rehabilitation, his condition improved and William was able to move around with a wheelchair. Encouraged by his wife, William began exploring painting with his mouth. After hours of practice, he now paints detailed watercolor landscapes and views the activity as therapeutic, giving him strength and confidence.
