Aleesha was diagnosed in 2020 at 5-year-old with low-grade glioma of the left eye (optic nerve) and underwent chemotherapy. She is currently in remission, but due to her cancer, she has severe visual impairment with minimal light perception. Aleesha has been part of many LOVE, NILS programs, but art therapy is her favourite, and she enjoys receiving the monthly curated art kits sent to her home.
