About
Once a science major at Catholic Junior College, Neng Ping was an active sportsman with plans for a future in engineering. However, a diving mishap in 1986 changed the course of his life, leaving him wheelchair-bound due to a traumatic C4 spinal cord injury. In the face of these challenges, painting became a powerful form of self-expression for him. Drawing upon his carefree kampong childhood in Singapore during the 1970s, Neng Ping finds inspiration in the sights and serenity of gardens and places he has visited. Through his paintings, he seeks to share his life, experiences, and his deep appreciation for the simple beauty of the flora that surrounds him.
