By Duy Vu Do Tuan

From Vietnam, Hanoi

The Huc Bridge, built in 1865 by Nguyen Van Sieu, spans 45 metres across Gươm Lake to Ngọc Sơn Temple. Its name means “the place where brilliant radiance gathers”. This iconic structure, along with Hoan Kiem Lake, symbolises Hanoi. The red-painted wooden bridge, commissioned by the revered Saint Siêu, not only provides access to the temple but also stands as a testament to the city’s rich cultural heritage.

About

Duy Vu Do Tuan, born in 2007 in Hanoi, is an autistic student with a passion for art since age two. Unlike his peers who were drawn to toys, Duy was captivated by coloured pencils from the age of two, drawing on any available surface, including walls, furniture, and even his parents' wedding photos. He began formal education at four at the Support Center for Inclusive Education Development. Duy has participated in art classes and three group exhibitions at the Megan Art Center. His artwork mainly depicts natural landscapes of Hanoi and northern Vietnam, with some abstract piece.
