Through The Fire

"Your life is a piece of clay; don't let anyone else mold it for you." - Lao Tzu Genine was ready to return to painting in the wake of an illness. She moved across the large canvas slowly but surely, finding a rhythm despite her lowered energy levels. She picked up the pace, paintbrush in hand. Bit by bit, her smile returned as she determinedly worked her way around the canvas. Emitting wonderful hues of pottery glazed with rutile cobalt iron, Through the Fire is a testament to the resilience of an artist.

About
Genine is a beneficiary of Extraordinary People Limited's Creative Lab Programme. Although born with Epilepsy, through her art, Genine creates glimpses of her inner world, motivated solely by self-discovery, inquisitiveness, and play. Amidst her artistic process, she is expressive, gentle and explorative. Each of Genine's paintings projects new awareness emerging from her artistic process and her use of her hands and feet in creating panoramic landscapes that engage the viewer in their complex textures and details.
